Requirements
of residents
Potential residents should have a minimum of 3 months clean
time, in order to be considered.
The following are non-negotiable requirements:
| •
|
All
residents need to actively take part and be a member of
a 12-step program of recovery. (AA, NA, MA, CA, OA, etc) |
| •
|
All
residents will, without exception, attend a minimum of
3 meetings per week. |
| •
|
All
residents need to have a sponsor with whom they work a
solid 12-step program. Residents are required to have
a sponsor with whom they are in regular contact (as agreed
with the sponsor and sponsee/resident). Normally this
varies between daily and a number of times per week. |
| •
|
All
residents will be subject to random drug tests by the
Halfway House. |
| •
|
All
residents will, without exception, be expected to attend
the weekly house meeting. |
| •
|
All
residents are expected to vacate the Halfway House during
the day from Monday until Friday between 09h00 and 15h00.
Residents whom are unemployed will be
required to actively seek employment during these hours.
We recommend Internet Café’s, Library’s
and Employment agencies.
Residents that are on holiday or unemployed will be
provided with information on local NGO’s and will
be expected to volunteer their time to these organizations.
It is important that the property is vacated during
the working day, and that residents actively take the
necessary steps towards their recovery to integrate
back into society.
|
| •
|
All
residents will be expected to keep their rooms tidy and
to make their own beds. |
